Res: Greece in latest positions According to Eurostat

Despite the great growth in the ‘ 70 and ‘ 80, Greece is now approaching the latest positions in europe, with regard to the percentage of RES energy in total Consumption.

More specifically, According to a report of the website ethnos.gr, Greece in the period 2006-2010 increased the participation of RES in total energy consumption from 7% to 9.2%, while neighbouring countries, for example Italy and cyprus, almost doubled .

Based on Eurostat data, 2010 energy from Res contributed 12.4% to total consumption in the 27 EU member states, from 11.7% in 2009 and 10.5% in 2008.

First comes sweden, which produces from res 47.9% of the energy consumed, followed by Latvia with 32.6% and Finland with 32.2%.

On the other hand, Britain’s worst performance has been with 3.2%, Holland with 3.8%, Cyprus with 4.8% and Ireland with 5.5%.
